We know lots of people worry more about their breath during February, but we think fresh breath is important year-round!
What Causes Bad Breath?
Some causes of bad breath are well-known and easy to cure, such as morning breath or coffee breath, or breath that smells very strongly of garlic! In these situations, the solution is usually very easy.
Brushing and Flossing Regularly
Regularly brushing and flossing your teeth will remove food particles trapped on and around your teeth that can otherwise begin to rot and smell noxious. Afterwards, you can freshen your breath further by using an antimicrobial mouthwash. When bad breath is caused by garlic or onions, you will need to wait it out, as until the food is eliminated from your body, the smell will remain and can only be temporarily hidden with breath mints or mouthwash.
Stay Well-Hydrated
It’s essential to drink plenty of water and especially during the summer months. Staying well-hydrated will ensure your body can make plenty of saliva, as you are more likely to have bad breath when your mouth is dry.
